Metallica kicked off the World Magnetic 2008 tour with a concert in Glendale, Arizona last night. See the Metallica concert setlist and review below. This Metallica concert was the first on a 37-date North American 2008 tour in support of the new Metallica album Death Magnetic. The World Magnetic world tour will continue with USA concert dates until late January 2009, and Metallica will then go on European Death Magnetic tour dates until late July 2009.

The owners of the Los Angeles Forum have a little issue with Lamb of God, so unfortunately they will not be joining Metallica for the two shows at the Forum on December 17 and 18 on the World Magnetic Tour in support of the new Metallica album Death Magnetic.
Lamb of God is banned because of a decision by the Faithful Central Bible Church who own the venue, the Forum. The controversy between Lamb of God and the Los Angeles forum goes back to 2005. The Faithful Central Bible Church decided to ban the band because of their name.

Metallica has kicked-off the tour of USA in support of the new album Death Magnetic. USA is the first leg of the Metallica world tour that has been named “World Magnetic Tour“. The Metallica World Magnetic world tour will go through USA until late January 2009 and will continue with Metallica concert dates in Europe until late July 2009. Late 2008 and the complete 2009 are expected to be filled in with Metallica concerts all around the world.
